Upper Mustang Trek

Day01: Kathmandu Arrival (1310m)
After you disembark from the plane, you will have to go through customs formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel for your luxurious stay. You will get the briefing from your tour leader. Enjoy the welcome dinner.

Day02: Kathmandu to Pokhara (915m)
Leave Kathmandu from Thankot checkpoint and follow Prithvi Highway for 5hrs to Pokhara. The journey will be scenic with views of Trishuli River, cable car, green hills, and Marsyangdi River. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day03: Pokhara to Jomsom Flight, Trek to Kagbeni (2810m)
Take20 minutes of scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom which is the district headquarters of Mustang. Assemble the crew and begin your trek. You will be greeted with views of Nilgiri Mountain, Dhaulagiri Mountain, Tukuche peak and Dhampus peak. Kagbeni is the entry point for Upper Mustang. Stay overnight in a camp at Kagbeni.

Day04: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3795m)
Leave Kagbeni and walk through the windy valley to Muktinath. Muktinath- the lord of salvation is one of the major religious sites for Hindus and Buddhists. The walls are decorated with prayer wheels. We will walk along Gompa Sambha Monastery to the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Take shower in 108 brass sprouts and visit Marme Lakhang.

Day05: Muktinath to Chele (3050m)
Walk through the narrow alleys amongst whitewashed houses and barley fields. Climb the high pass of Gyu La (4077m). Lower down from the pass and cross river before climbing to Chele. We can get the view of Nilgiri peak from most of the point.

Day06: Chele to Syangboche (3800m)
We will move through less vegetation area where the tree can be seen at sparse. Climb further through the pass for the brief period before taking sharp descent to Sherpa village. Walk through the path lined with chorten and get views of Annapurna and Nilgiri Mountain to the south. Arrive at the base of Syangboche La that lies near to Syangboche River. Stay overnight in Syangboche.

Day07: Syangboche to Tsarang (3560m)
Climb Syangboche La and follow the ascending trail to Nyila Pass. Lower down and follow the straight path to steel bridge of the Tangmar Chu River. Walk along the path lined with Mani walls and climb yet another pass located at 3600m altitude. Descend from the pass to Charang/Tsarang. There exists five-story white Dzong and red Gompa in Charang.

Day08: Tsarang to Lo Manthang (3810m)
Lower down from Tsarang to arrive at Charang Chu River. Crossing the river, follow the rocky trail up to the cairn on a ridge. Reach to the top of the ridge to get the view of the walled city of Lo. Lower down from the ridge and cross the small stream to make it to Lo Manthang. There exists Thugchen Gompa and Chyodi Gompa in Lomanthang.

Day09: Exploration in Lo Manthang (3810m)
This is taken as a rest day. We can explore Gharphu and reach Ghom Cave or take a side trip to Lomanthang village and visit its ancient monasteries and chortens.

Day10: LoManthang to Ghami (3765m)
Leaving LoManthang, we will follow the escalating trail through Pangga (4090m). Lower down from Pangga and continue to follow the tapered road to Drakmar. From Drakmar, we will walk along the scenic trail to Ghami. Ghami is as far as we will reach in Upper Mustang trek.

Day11: Ghami to Samar (3660m)
Leave Ghami and follow the ascending trail to Samar. Visit Samar monastery. We can see beautiful Mural paintings and idol of Buddha in Samar Monastery. Stay overnight in Samar.

Day12: Samar to Chhusang (2980m)
This is going to be a difficult trek. Climb Daroji La (3735m) and move further to Takma La. About two hours of walk from Takma La will take us to Chhusang where we will stay overnight.

Day13: Chhusang to Jomsom (2820m) via Kagbeni (2810m)
After early breakfast in Chhusang, we will proceed through the trail in Annapurna region and reach Kagbeni. From Kagbeni, we will walk along Kaligandaki valley to Jomsom. Stay overnight in Jomsom.

Day14: Jomsom to Kathmandu via Pokhara flight
Take 20 minutes of Jomsom Pokhara flight to reach Pokhara. From Pokhara, we will take a connecting flight to Kathmandu. Celebrate the successful Upper Mustang trek. Farewell dinner will be served in the evening.

Day15: Departure
You will be dropped off at Tribhuvan International Airport approximately 3hours before your flight. Have a safe journey. We hope to see you soon.
