Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1310m)
After you disembark from the plane, you will have to go through customs formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel for your luxurious stay. You will get the briefing from your tour leader. Enjoy the welcome dinner.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast, the guide will take you for wonderful Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour during which you will visit UNESCO sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhu, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu is the wonderful city where culture is embedded in the daily life of people. Pashupatinath is one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world. Swayambhunath is the oldest Buddhist stupa and Bouddhanath is the largest stupa. Bouddhanath is located in the ancient trade route between Nepal and Tibet.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat (535m)
Leaving Kathmandu, we will follow Prithvi Highway for few hours and then depart from the main Highway for Arughat. It usually takes about 6hrs to reach Arughat from Kathmandu. We will visit the marketplace. Arughat is the largest inhabited place in entire Manaslu valley. Heading to the north from Arughat Bazar, we will reach Budhi Gandaki River where we will stay overnight in a camp.
Day 04: Arughat to Liding (860m)
This is going to be a pleasant walk along gushing Budhigandaki River. The trail crosses small villages, hills, and forest that is rich in vegetation. In about 6hrs, we will reach Liding Village which is located at the bank of Budhigandaki River. Overnight stay at Liding.
Day 05: Liding to Jagat (1410m)
Leaving Liding, we will pursue the trail that moves in and out of the forest where we can view colorful local birds. Exiting from the forest, we will pass through dispersed settlements to arrive at pasture land from where we will continue our journey to Lapu Besi afterward which the trail narrows down through large Gurung village to Khorlabesi from where the trail continues to Tatopani (hot water). We will climb up the hill and cross Budhigandaki River on a suspension bridge to reach Doban. We need to cross the bridge at Lauri to reach Jagat.
Day 06: Jagat to Lokpa (2040m)
We need to show our trekking permit at Jagat which was the Maoist stronghold during the insurgency. After a brief walk along the river, we will climb to Salleri (1440m) from where we can get the scenic view of Sringi Mountain. We will lower down to Sirdibas that is rich in Buddhist culture. Following the river, we will reach a long suspension bridge from where we will climb to Philim which is a big Gurung village. The journey continues through Ekle Bhatti to Lokpa which is the first village in Tsum Valley.
Day 07: Lokpa to Chumling (2363m)
Barley is the major crop that is produced in Lokpa. We will lower down through forest and cross bridges before climbing the stone steps to the north. We will lower down to Ghumlong (2130m) and follow an ascending trail to Ripchet. We will cross Siyar River on a log bridge and climb uphill to Chumling that offers the scenic view of the south face of Shingri Mountain.
Day 08: Chumling to Chhekampar (3010m)
We need to cross yet another suspension bridge which leads us through crop fields to the forest. We can get the scenic view of Ganesh Himal from this point. Continue walking to Rinjam and cross Serpu River before climbing to Upper Tsum where we can find the connected villages of Chhokang and Paro which is collectively called as Chhokangpar or Chhekampar. Enjoy the view of Ganesh Mountain.
Day 09: Chhekampar to Nile (3365m)
You might suffer from High Altitude Sickness. Visit the death place of great saint Lama Kongchog. Tsumba is the commonly spoken dialect in this region. We will follow the eastern trail and pass along Rachen Gompa. Near to the gompa is Milarepa cave. We will cross Shiyar River and move through small villages of Phurbe and Pangdun to reach Chhule from where we will climb uphill to Nile.
Day 10: Nile to Mu Gompa (3700m)
Near to Mu Gompa is Dhephu Doma Nunnery. We will walk past mani walls and chortens to Mu Gompa which is one of the oldest monasteries in Tsum valley. Time permitting, we can visit Kalung or Bhajyo for better views of mountains. We can see Lungdang glacier from Mu Gompa. This is the farthest Gompa in Manaslu and it is also the Gompa located at the highest point in Manaslu.
Day 11: Mu Gompa to Rachen Gompa (3240m)
Return trip begins from Mu Gompa. We will walk through the valley to Chhule from where we will head to Phurbe. Moving further, we will arrive at Siyar River and we will continue to walk to Rachen Gompa which is another ancient Gompa. The path offers the scenic view of Punchen Himal.
Day 12: Rachen Gompa to Dumje (2440m)
After taking final observation of Rachen Gompa, we will follow the trail that heads south from Gompa and arrives at a bridge. Crossing the bridge, we will lower down to Chhokang Paro and reach Chumling. Walking further, we will reach Gho where we can visit a small Gompa before lowering down to Siyar River. The brief walk from the river will take us to Dumje.
Day 13: Dumje to Lung dang Gumpa (3200m)
We can visit the school at Dumje before climbing through pine and rhododendron forest to follow narrow path decorated with prayer flags which offer spectacular views of Manaslu Mountain and Ganesh Mountain to reach Lung dang Gompa which is a small nunnery.
Day 14: Lung dang Gompa to Ripchet (2468m)
We will lower down from Lung dang Gompa via the scenic path which is decorated with prayer flags. We will enjoy the stunning view of magnificent Ganesh Mountain from most of the point. We will arrive at Rainjam from where we will head to Ripchet via a meandering trail through forest and river.
Day 15: Ripchet to Dovan (1070m)
We will leave Ripchet and follow lowering path to enter pine forest that is rich in wildlife like langurs, musk deer, and birds. We will lower down to the river and arrive at Dovan where we will stay overnight.
Day 16: Dovan to Soti Khola (720m)
After breakfast, leave Dovan early in the morning. Walk past sporadic villages to Khorlabesi from where the journey continues to Soti River. The path branches at Khorlabesi. We will choose the route that leads us to Arughat and arrives at Soti Khola where we will stay overnight.
Day 17: Soti Khola to Arughat (535m)
We need to cross the river at Soti Khola. The journey continues through crop fields and settlements to Arughat Bazaar. We will stay overnight at Arughat.
Day 18: Arughat to Kathmandu
Since exciting Tsum Valley Trek has come to an end, we will drive back to Kathmandu on this day. We will reach Kathmandu at about 7hrs by passing through Dhading Besi Malekhu and Naubise. You will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu for the pleasant stay.
Day 19: Free Day in Kathmandu
Take leisure on this day. Go shopping in Thamel. Arrange your photo albums. Write a journal to savor memories and have a pleasant stay.
Day 20: Departure
You will be dropped off at Tribhuvan International Airport approximately 3hours before your flight. Have a safe journey. We hope to see you soon.
